Mr. Thomas began his professional career in 1984 just months before graduating from the University of California Davis in 1984, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural & Managerial Economics emphasizing in Construction Management and Business Operations.  Shortly thereafter, he completed and earned a General B designation from the California State University, Long Beach completing both private and public works.

Since then, Mr. Thomas has been a professional in the construction industry for 37 years, serving in various capacities including project manager, senior project manager, construction manager, chief estimator, business owner, vice president and construction defect expert.

Early in his career, where bonding capacity was limited, he worked on smaller remodel and modernizations public works projects throughout Yolo Sacramento and Alameda Counties and completed one of the first mixed use projects in Davis, CA combining commercial and residential units.  Later in his career, Mr. Thomas worked on several residential remodels, tenant improvements as well as new residential and commercial starts. In the early and mid-1990’s Mr. Thomas’ professional accomplishments earned industry recognition and was sought out by Fisher Development, The Shorenstein Company and RAS Builders completing Nationwide Retail Projects, High Rise Tenant Improvements and Food Service Projects. His expertise was called upon to facilitate a variety of hotel remodels in California and the Pacific Northwest.

Mr. Thomas professional career continued to evolve when he became a Senior Project Manager for Daniel Silverie III, Inc. to estimate, purchase, and manage the overall design through construction of an $18 million, 120-unit, 8-story condominium complex in Emeryville, CA. He developed master schedules, conducted crew member interviews, and made the hiring decisions for all construction crew members. Mr. Thomas also chaired weekly meetings with all relevant parties on the project including the design team, owner, and construction teams. Ultimately, he was successfully able to decrease the overall construction costs by $1 million through value engineering.

In 2003, Mr. Thomas founded Thomas & Associates Construction Managers where he served as a construction manager, estimator, and owner representative. He partnered with home and commercial building owners overseeing and managing all aspects of construction from design through occupancy.

In 2016, Mr. Thomas joined Consolidated Contracting Services, Inc. as a Senior Estimator where he served as a lead estimator for competitively bid commercial construction projects and led the estimating team from front end documents through the development of scope. Mr. Thomas conducted field visits and inspections to ensure exceptional quality and commitment to delivering accurate estimates was met. Mr. Thomas also conducted all aspects of quantity surveys and takeoffs as well as preconstruction, estimating, and project buyout for retail, commercial, food service, new, and renovation type projects.
